The technologies of the social era, such as the Internet, Twitter, Facebook, social media, crowd-funding, crowd-sourcing and others are introducing radical changes in how firms organize themselves, how they compete against each other and how they do business on a day to day basis. Long gone are the days of hierarchy, closed innovation or top-down change programs. They are now being replaced by networks, open innovation and decentralized change processes. This keynote speech will identify some of the most disruptive changes taking place and describe how they are affecting companies and by implication the HR function. Examples will be provided on how leading edge companies are exploiting the new technologies of the social era.
